The exhibition “Jubilee” celebrates 10 years of Isabelle Scheltjens’ artistic journey. This milestone exhibition not only commemorates a decade of creativity but also pays tribute to the profound impact of this talented artist on contemporary art. Thanks to her profound knowledge of color theory, Isabelle has developed a unique technique for glass fusion, where various pieces of glass of different colors, sizes, and textures are fused together in a glass kiln. Once these pieces of glass are melted together, Isabelle arranges the individual glass mosaics until a detailed portrait composition emerges. The magic of Isabelle’s work lies in its fascinating duality: up close, the colorful glass fragments appear abstract, but from a distance, they form meticulously detailed and expressive portraits.

After an impressive ten-year career, Isabelle Scheltjens introduces a revolutionary new project. She translates her famous portraits into a three-dimensional format: sculptures. Instead of traditional forms, she opts for deformed, narrowed, and elongated faces. These distortions intrigue the viewer and invite a deeper dialogue about beauty and normality. Isabelle remains faithful to glass as her preferred medium but also introduces marble into her work.
