MANGAUD Sylvie

Sylvie Mangaud, born in Paris in 1961, continues to live and work in her native city. Her work stems from a deep observation of the human body and its expressive power.

Trained in photography, she developed a sharp sense of movement, composition, and fleeting moments. Studies in drawing, sculpture, graphology, and morphology further enriched her understanding of bodily language.

In the 1990s, photography no longer sufficed to express the gestures she envisioned, and sculpture emerged naturally. Her photographic eye allows her to capture dynamism, breath, and emotion in elongated, sensual forms.

The nude body and animals lie at the heart of her inspiration. Her figures, with their deliberately stretched proportions, combine purity of line, softness of volume, and strength of movement. Their anonymous faces become universal archetypes, reflections of the human condition.

Authentic and instantly recognizable, her work appears in numerous private and institutional collections worldwide.
