Galerie Paul Janssen and its operating divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates and branches (collectively, “Galerie Paul Janssen,” the “Company,” “we” or “us”) are sensitive to privacy issues, and it is important to us to protect the information provided to us.  Accordingly, Galerie Paul Janssen provides this privacy and information practices policy to inform you about our online information practices, the kinds of information we may collect, how we intend to use and share that information, and how you can correct or change such information (“Privacy Policy”).  By using the Galerie Paul Janssen Website, you expressly consent to the information handling practices described in this notice.

The types of Personal Information we may collect (directly from you or from Third Party-sources) and our privacy practices depend on the nature of the relationship you have with Galerie Paul Janssen and the requirements of applicable law.  We endeavour to collect information only relevant for the purposes of Processing.  Below are the legal bases and some of the ways we collect information and how we use it.

Galerie Paul Janssen collects Personal Information regarding its current, prospective and former clients, customers, visitors and guests (collectively “Individuals”).

Galerie Paul Janssen may collect Personal Information to enable Data Subjects to use online social media resources offered either by Galerie Paul Janssen or a Third Party.  We may also enable you to use these social media resources to post or share Personal Information with others.  When using social media resources, you should take into careful consideration what Personal Information you share with others.

If you use on online social media resource offered by a Third Party (“Third Party SMR”) through the Galerie Paul Janssen Website, you acknowledge that Galerie Paul Janssen may be able to access any information you make public through such Third Party SMR (such as your username, comments, posts and contacts) and other information your privacy settings on such Third Party SMR permit Galerie Paul Janssen to access.  Galerie Paul Janssen will comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy and the privacy policies applicable to the social media resources it uses.

2.7 Direct Mail, Email and Outbound Telemarketing

Individuals who provide us with Personal Information, or whose Personal Information we obtain from Third Parties, may receive periodic emails, newsletters, mailings or phone calls from us with information on Galerie Paul Janssen or our business partners’ products and services or upcoming special offers/events we believe may be of interest.  We offer the option to decline these communications at no cost to the individual by following the instructions in Section 3 below.

2.8 Cookies, Pixel Tags/Web Beacons, Analytics Information, and Interest-Based Advertising

We, as well as Third Parties that provide content, advertising, or other functionality on our Services, may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and other technologies (“Technologies”) to automatically collect information through the Services.  We use Technologies that are essentially small data files placed on your computer, tablet, mobile phone, or other devices (referred to collectively as a “device”) that allow us to record certain pieces of information whenever you visit or interact with our sites, services, applications, messaging, and tools, and to recognize you across devices.

2.8.1 Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed in visitors’ computer browsers to store their preferences. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies.  However, if you do that, the Site may not work properly.

2.8.2 Pixel Tags/Web Beacons

A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded on the Site that collects information about users’ engagement on that web page.  The use of a pixel allows us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page or clicked on a particular advertisement.

2.8.3 Social Media Widgets

Our Website includes social media features such as the Facebook “Like” button and LinkedIn (that might include widgets such as the share this button or other interactive mini-programs).  These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly.  These social media features are either hosted by a Third Party or hosted directly on our Website.  Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

2.8.4 Analytics Information

We may also use Google Analytics and Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting to collect information regarding visitor behaviour and visitor demographics on some of our Services, and to develop website content.  This analytics data is not tied to any Personal Information.  For more information about Google Analytics, please visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. Our uses of such Technologies fall into the following general categories:

We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies that are necessary to the operation of our sites, services, applications, and tools.  This includes technologies that allow you access to our sites, services, applications, and tools; that are required to identify irregular site behaviour, prevent fraudulent activity and improve security; or that allow you to make use of our functions such as shopping-carts, saved search, or similar functions;
  • Performance Related. We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies to assess the performance of our website, applications, services, and tools, including as part of our analytic practices to help us understand how our visitors use our website, determine if you have interacted with our messaging, determine whether you have viewed an item or link, or to improve our website content, applications, services, or tools;

We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies that allow us to offer you enhanced functionality when accessing or using our sites, services, applications, or tools.  This may include identifying you when you sign into our sites or keeping track of your specified preferences, interests, or past items viewed so that we may enhance the presentation of content on our sites.

We may use first-party or third-party cookies and web beacons to deliver content, including ads relevant to your interests, on our sites or on third party sites.  This includes using technologies to understand the usefulness to you of the advertisements and content that has been delivered to you, such as whether you have clicked on an advertisement.

If you would like to opt-out of the Technologies we employ on our sites, services, applications, or tools, you may do so by blocking, deleting, or disabling them as your browser or device permits.

2.9 Mobile Devices

Galerie Paul Janssen may provide websites and online resources that are specifically designed to be compatible and used on mobile devices.  Galerie Paul Janssen will collect certain information that your mobile device sends when you use such websites or online resources, like a device identifier, user settings and the operating system of your device.

2.10 Anonymous and Aggregated Information

Galerie Paul Janssen may use your Personal Information and other information about you to create anonymized and aggregated information, such as de-identified demographic information, de-identified location information, information about the computer or device from which you access the Galerie Paul Janssen Website or other online services, or other analyses we create.  Anonymized and aggregated information is used for a variety of functions, including the measurement of visitors’ interest in and use of various portions or features of the Website.  Anonymized or aggregated information is not Personal Information, and Galerie Paul Janssen may use such information in a number of ways, including research, internal analysis, analytics and any other legally permissible purposes.  We may share this information within Galerie Paul Janssen and with Third Parties for our or their purposes in an anonymized or aggregated form that is designed to prevent anyone from identifying you.

3.0 Choice/Modalities to Opt Out

3.1 General

Where you have consented to Galerie Paul Janssen’s processing of your Personal Information, you may withdraw that consent at any time and opt out by following the instructions in this Section 3.  Additionally, before we use Personal Information for any new purpose not originally authorized by you, we will provide information regarding the new purpose and give you the opportunity to opt out.

Prior to disclosing Sensitive Data to a Third Party or Processing Sensitive Data for a purpose other than its original purpose or the purpose authorized subsequently by the Data Subject, Galerie Paul Janssen will endeavour to obtain each Data Subject’s explicit consent (opt-in).  Where consent of the Data Subject for the Processing of Personal Information is otherwise required by law or contract, Galerie Paul Janssen will comply with the law or contract.

3.2 Email and Telephone Communications

An “Unsubscribe” button will be provided at the top or bottom of each email communications sent by Galerie Paul Janssen so that you can opt-out.  However, we may continue to send transaction-related emails regarding products or services you have requested in response to such request.  We may need to send you certain communications regarding the Galerie Paul Janssen programs and services and you will not be able to opt out of those communications – e.g., communications regarding updates to our Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy.

3.3 Human Resources Data

With regard to Personal Information that Galerie Paul Janssen receives in connection with the employment relationship, Galerie Paul Janssen will use such Personal Information only for employment-related purposes as more fully described in section 2.3 above.  If Galerie Paul Janssen intends to use this Personal Information for any other purpose, the Company will provide the Data Subject with an opportunity to opt-out of such uses.

3.4 “Do Not Track”

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in certain web browsers. DNT is a way for users to inform websites and services that they do not want certain information about their webpage visits collected over time and across websites or online services.  Galerie Paul Janssen does not recognize or respond to browser-initiated DNT signals. 3.5 Advertising Choices

We may use certain tools offered by Third Parties that enable such Third Party to collect or receive information about actions users take on our Website and elsewhere on the internet through use of cookies, pixel tags and other storage technologies.

Interest-based advertising is advertising that tries to make the ads you see more interesting and relevant to you based on the types of sites you visit online and other information that does not personally identify you.  Advertisements on Third-Party websites that contain the AdChoices link and that link to this Privacy Policy may have been directed to you based on anonymous, non-Personal Information collected by advertising partners over time and across websites.  These advertisements provide a mechanism to opt-out of the advertising partners’ use of this information for interest-based advertising purposes.

You can opt out of the collection and use of your information for interest-based advertising by going to http://optout.aboutads.info,  http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp, or http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ to limit collection through the Website or by configuring the settings on your mobile device to limit ad tracking through the mobile applications.

Even if you opt-out, we may still collect and use non-Personal Information regarding your activities on our Website and/or information from the advertisements on Third-Party websites for non-interest based advertising purposes, such as to determine the effectiveness of the advertisements.

4.0 Onward Transfer

4.1 Information We Share

Galerie Paul Janssen does not sell or otherwise disclose Personal Information about you, except as described in this Privacy Policy or as you explicitly consent.  Galerie Paul Janssen endeavours to require third parties to which it discloses Personal Information to protect Personal Information using substantially similar standards to those required by Galerie Paul Janssen (and at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles and this Privacy Policy), and to notify Galerie Paul Janssen if they make a determination they can no longer meet this obligation.

4.1.1 Service Providers

Galerie Paul Janssen may share Personal Information with our service providers that we have retained to perform services on our behalf including (i) provision of IT and related services; (ii) provision of information and services you have requested; (iii) payment processing; and (iv) customer service activities. Payment information will be used and shared only to effectuate your order and may be stored by a service provider for purposes of future orders.

All Personal Information sent or collected via or by Galerie Paul Janssen may be stored anywhere in the world, including but not limited to, in the European Union, in the cloud, our servers, the servers of our affiliates or the servers of our service providers.  Your Personal Information may be accessible to law enforcement or other authorities pursuant to a lawful request. 5.0 Rights of Access, Rectification, Erasure and Restriction

9.0 Other Rights and Important Information.

9.1 Information Regarding Children

Due to the nature of Galerie Paul Janssen’s business, services and benefits are not marketed to persons less than 13 years of age (and in certain jurisdictions under the age of 16 (collectively “minors”).

If you are under 13 years of age (and in certain jurisdictions under the age of 16), then please do not use or access the Galerie Paul Janssen website at any time or in any manner.

9.3 Changes to the Privacy Policy

Galerie Paul Janssen may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as it deems necessary in its sole discretion.
